Finance Ministry sees no reason for support to ALROSA

MOSCOW, Jan 27 (PRIME) -- The Finance Ministry sees no reason to grant support to Russian diamond mining giant ALROSA as the diamond market and results of the company are good, Deputy Minister Alexei Moiseyev told reporters on Wednesday.

“The market has been good so far, this is why we see no prerequisites for that at this stage,” he said.

“Still, we will monitor the situation further, because it is unclear whether this spike is only delayed demand and he market would fall after that. … This is why we will just look at the situation now. I think that we will report that to the president closer to the end of the first quarter. For now, we see that … the results are great,” he said.
